to be entirely fair though vivaldi looks legit but it seems like onenote and edge/ie put together which kinda puts me off. there's no harm in giving it a try though.

Firefox was pretty good for me but I'm now using chrome again since it doesn't constantly hang, magically corrupt my session making it unsavable (history is fine though), and has had multiprocess (e10s for Firefox) already sorted out ages ago. Developer edition firefox apparently lets me mix e10s and non e10s extensions to some extent which is ok but I can't use things like the maff extension properly. I also like Chrome's material design theme but it's stuff for tons of tabs and customization of the UI where Firefox at least for now has classic theme restorer.

Waterfox is 64 bit and doesn't appear to have the hanging issue but still has the e10s and extension issue in progress.

On Edge, it's too basic for me and the way it saves data in the spartan.edb file means if it gets forgeted up somehow (like it did for me days ago) it loses all browser data and totally resets. I don't recommend it unless you back up the .edb file constantly, but I'd backup all browser files just to be safe if you care about the data. IE at least saves favorites as each a file so one database getting corrupted doesn't mean the end of all that data.

Somewhat unrelated: I'd backup the ms sticky notes plum database too just in case it magically decides to reset itself.

Firefox

recently vivaldi has caught my eye

OP that dude's been dead for a long time

thanks for your input guys, but i doubt you actually tried it so /shrug

i just realized that i could probably run a benchmark or something on both and see which one runs better

again thanks anyway!

OP that dude's been dead for a long time
it is? that's kind of interesting, considering the latest update was four days ago

edit: I'm officially mentally disabled

but in other news
at first I was kinda annoyed cus this vivaldi stuff looks so damn pretentious, but on the other hand it seems cool as hell too also.........
but wheres the documentation
i wanna know how to extensions

another edit: this is reskinned chrome
like basically that's it. it even uses chrome extensions. runs multiple processes, like chrome does. even has chrome devtools. my best guess is that it was forked from chromium. only difference outside of the UI is they don't give you access to the source code. it would make sense for it to use the same rendering and javascript engines that chrome does

if you don't like chrome, you won't like this. if you do like chrome, maybe you'll like this

last edit, probably: alt+s shortcut doesn't work on the forum. uninstalling
