Author Topic: Experienced an ocular migraine for the first time, worried  (Read 1990 times)

Okay forum-metrists.

I believe I may have had some sort of ocular migraine. There was no pain associated.
It was the first time I have ever experienced such a thing in my life. It looked sort of like
this at max intensity. The shape was changing rapidly:

Should I be concerned?

WHAT

I did feel a bit of pain my left eye 15 minutes after it happened...

put a screwdriver in the eye to fix it
trust me, i'm not a doctor

make sure to place water on face and repeatedly bash face with wall

yeah this happened to me once. it was like the right side of my right eye went dark. wasn't fun driving home.

don't worry about it unless it starts happening often. take some aspirin and a nap.

Your powers are growing stronger my friend...

I believe those are called auras, they usually predict migraines and sometimes seizures, depending

I've had only one of those in my life. Headache after the aura wasn't actually that bad - probably since it happened right before I went to sleep and not like, during the day at school.

a rare one is generally alright but if another happens soon contact your doctor asap

Can be a sign of dehydration. Drink fluids and if possible, rest your eyes. I always get these before a severe migraine.

yeah those suck richard but i haven't had one in three years
in my experience they precede a migraine

I got one of these and the migraine came during a review for an English test.   I was seeing wavy stuff and the floor was caving in.  For some reason, I remember my teacher talking about him growing coffee in a cave in Africa and the rest was a blur.  I went home later that day and it started to go away.  This happened last year though and I haven't had a bad one since

if you occasionally get migraines already with no warnings expect to have a bad one
