how do i nuke the exif data on an avatar i'm trying to upload?

so i'm trying to upload a new avatar but SMF is being annoying with its virus detection that constantly gives out false positives. any way i can get rid of the extra stuff photoshop leaves behind in a png file?

if you're sure photoshop is leaving something behind in the file, you could try using a printscreen of it in paint
the quality shouldn't degrade, and paint should be simple enough to save the file without adding too much data

open the png with an alternate art program like paint and save as an alternate file
