Author Topic: Whats your guy's opinion on religion?  (Read 6681 times)

right, and i support people who find religion to live a better life
but is there any logical basis to deeply believing that there is definitely a god? you could make up anything and pitch it as your belief, arguing that it "can't be disproven" whenever someone tries to challenge it.
is there any logical basis for why we feel emotions or get angry when things dont go our way, or maybe happy when someone we love is around us? religion is something humans make for themselves and is strictly a human trait.

religion is all made up by everyone, but because people believe in it, it has meaning and is therefore real. its pointless to ask why it exists or why it doesn't

when he says "built into people" i think he means that people are 'conditioned' into religion at an early age
is that what he meant tho...
haha what
hes got a point

well by one technical definition, logical can literally mean natural, reasonable, sensible (thanks google) so as long as someone feels good and believe in daddy god up there while making some kind of coherent argument where the only counterargument is a burden of proof sort of thing then yes i guess they may logically have a reason to believe theres a god

but also no not really,

is there any logical basis for why we feel emotions or get angry when things dont go our way, or maybe happy when someone we love is around us?
ya i think it falls under the "science" category

yes. those are perceptions and are caused by endorphins, etc.

do you believe in an afterlife, then? i understand making a basic set of morals for people to follow is generally good and "believing in him makes him exist" but that doesn't change the way reality is.

an autistic caveman got bored and acted up
now it's just not lively without emotion

as long as you don't kill people over it

i'm an atheist
i don't have a problem with you believing in magic but please don't force the people around you (including your kids) to believe it too

edit: and don't make political decisions based on it either thanks

my favorite part of growing up was being indoctrinated into religion by having it told to me as fact rather than possibility  :iceCream:

super catchy

i believe that there is some sort of creator-- one that runs a simulation (if that theory is true) or some other greater being. you have to think... something can't be created from nothing (i.e. the universe). that would break the first law of thermodynamics/conservation of energy. maybe it's possible, but i can't comprehend it.

i don't believe in humanity's ideas of god; they all seem twisted to fit to their social repertoire. organized religion separates more people than it brings together.

if you didn't know, that kind of belief system is known as deism (and it's pretty reasonable in my opinion)

time didn't exist before the big bang so technically speaking something can spawn from nothing because law of thermodynamics/conservation of energy doesn't apply stuff.
also, since time didn't exist, it is literally impossible to know what made the big bang happen. i like, no joke, this short story about the end of the universe and entropy: http://multivax.com/last_question.html

which is why there
Is there any logical reason to believe there's a god
is faith
