so yeah... it's big, it's old and its decaying, and growing LITERAL TREES ON IT'S ROOF.

It's been there since i've been on this planet, and it's pretty old.
They had plans on demolishing it this year, but the mayor didn't let them, the place is literally the heart of the city and
it's a pretty massive building, but otherwise it's a MAJOR health hazard, most of it's workers died from asbestos, and it was built in 1920, but shut down in 2001, and it's been there for quite a while now, but it's a grim reminder.

It's pretty old and i've always wondered if people still work they're and one of my friends told me that he went there and felt something watching him, and he left soon after.

And i live just down the street from it, it's pretty scary to look at it at night time.

Yeah, it has alot of loving asbestos, alot of the people who live near are affected alot by it, and it's basically a chernobyl but with asbestos

help.

Asbestos pretty much stays put in plaster-cast like wraps used for insulation, and it only becomes a real problem when its particularized due to breaks/cracking or people fiddling with it. I think it's more of an overall cost problem for your city because of stuff like OSHA and hazardous waste disposal vs. a scary artifact of unknown horror.

Do you live in central Illinois by chance?

get a denim coat and jeans and an asbestos-rated mask, then go loot it

asbestos requires direct ingestion to be dangerous, and even then it has to be in the form of a powder. you're safe.

the reason it's probably still up is because asbestos is obscenely expensive and time consuming to dispose of, so it makes a lot more sense for everyone to just leave it where it is.

People with first world problems don't even know what chernobyl was like.

People with first world problems don't even know what chernobyl was like.
Only people with second world problems know what it was like
