this is gonna be fearmongered and misinterpreted

the CIA only got as far as limited observations and philosophically-based hypotheses, and the program was cancelled when the CIA, surprise surprise, failed to make real progress. there are many rational explanations for this, though. one example: the CIA may not have been following the scientific method.

the philosophical questions and ideas raised by making this data public will help in the true scientific community, though. not neessarily because the ideas are correct, but because it's a different perspective.

i said they failed to make REAL progress. this is the CIA, not an independent research group. real progress for the CIA is something that can be used for, well, intel.

Remote viewing was popularized in the 1990s upon the declassification of certain documents related to the Stargate Project, a $20 million research program that had started in 1975 and was sponsored by the U.S. government, in an attempt to determine any potential military application of psychic phenomena. The program was terminated in 1995 after it failed to produce any actionable intelligence information.[n 1][11]

These advancements could completely change the course of scientific progress... a new, untouched field of study, just waiting for able minds.

we're also assuming it's not complete bullstuff in the first place. corruption of government agencies is nothing new.

"it's true because a small group of people in the CIA who were given a lot of money to look like they were working on something important said it's true" isn't solid logic.

But since when is wikipedia an ACTUAL legit source.

sorry, i didn't know you were my high school science teacher. here you go, ma'am:
