I can't get into VG music if I'm not playing one because really good OSTs fit a particular mood and atmosphere that real life doesn't have.
Like I can't listen to, lets say deathroad to canada's ost, on commute since all i can think of is collecting stuff and running from zombies.
I'm always very critical of vg sountracks for this exact reason: I only enjoy listening to them outside of the game if they actually work as standalone songs
I've always thought that the
FEZ Soundtrack has always held up very well in this regard. Top 5 from that list of 26 (!) tracks would be:
1. Majesty
2. Death
3. Sync
4. Flow
5. Love
