I mean, we should probably get separate words for child enthusiasts and child predators. Because ATM child enthusiast has some of the worst connotations possible to apply to a person--one who literally victimizes the weakest members of society--when most of them are just people with an unfortunate mental disorder. Most child enthusiasts will never act on their urges and many will seek counseling. Obviously a less serious example, but it's like using the same word to describe furries and otherkin. That's not correct. child enthusiasm is 100% a mental disorder. Or mental illness, or whatever you want to call it.

It's just not called "child enthusiasm" in the mental illness registry, it's termed "creepphilic disorder" and is defined as "a paraphilia involving intense and recurrent loveual urges towards and fantasies about prepubescent children that have either been acted upon or which cause the person with the attraction distress or interpersonal difficulty."

If it fits that, then you're officially diagnosed with creepphilic disorder.
