The elite taking Kim down obviously wouldn't free the country; for the most part they're just like him. What will change, though, is the people will be free from the leader-god ideology, which could make them easier to help.
Obviously there's not much Western countries can do since they have nuclear missiles and way too many armymen. We could take them out, yeah, but not tons of South Korean citizens are nuked. Even if we can get the anti-missile dome up, it's still a huge risk to put on millions of people.
