the time crystals aren't really useful, but it proves there's a lot more strange forms of matter out there we haven't discovered yet and the universe is a bit more weird than we thought

the vanadium oxide is a metal that can conduct electricity without expelling a lot of it as heat. imagine a computer that never gets hot
