Author Topic: Mom revoking everything for having 3 B's on my report card  (Read 5735 times)

I tihnk what Rambo is saying is to call her a dumb bitch and give her a good smack. once you put a woman in her place she won't dare tread on you again
i'm assuming this is sarcasm

this is standard fare for most asians and is not unheard of in academically-minded white households - you can deal with it. its not that terrible tbh.

you'll find ways around it if you're really desperate, as i used to do, but its probably for the best that you take a break from the internet. i actually managed to get stuff done when i was on unofficial hiatus for a few years.
ehh yeah sorta, my parents have gotten tolerant of my bullstuff (see: last year), so it's more of a "please get better grades" (mostly a's and b's now because of ADD treatment)
also yes, second part is entirely correct.

hello, child protective services? this is an outrage!
we have a parent who can't deal with their kid not being above average!
like seriously, an "A" is supposed to be "Above Average" and a B "Average," right? Meaning if you've got 3 of each, you're above average? Meaning your parents are expecting a bit too much of you...? Like seriously, I don't care about getting into a prestigious college (I've made rants about this) but I do care about my grades. My goal is to keep everything above a C and I do that simply by not goofing off and pretending I don't have homework (most of the time.) Your parents are overreacting big time. I got two F's last year and mine didn't care, I was obviously trying and super depressed over it. Did your mom perhaps end up in a super easy school, or is she some sort of super-genius who doesn't understand how others can get sub-perfect grades when trying their hardest (or at least as hard as they can without spending every living moment either sleeping, eating, working or studying?)

I don't understand parents who punish their kid for bad grades. If you're trying, you're trying. Making your kid less happy doesn't make them smarter, and being unhappy tends to make them want to do schoolwork less.

tell her that that's dumb and pretty unfair, but also that you'll try your best to persevere to an A this semester

C is considered average

So my first report card grades were all A's and just a B and now i recently got mine for second marking period and i have 3 B's and 3 A's
and shes banning my ability to play with my phone and pc now for idk how long, is this fair at all?

EDIT:She just called me and she was complaining its alll about homework (which it isnt) and she said its "is that how unmotovated you are?"
and yeah shes taking my phone and pc away.
i feel like shes gonna take a belt and hit me with it or something like of how mad she is at me

btw worth noting im in 9th grade and in high school

She's crazy. Getting Bs doesn't matter, especially if you're simultaneously getting As AND only in freshman year. Of course you can do better next semester but I think her expectations are too high.

You have brought shame on your family.

>use letters to grade test
I have no idea what a B is but im guessing its like 70%
How is that bad?
As long as its <50% every grade is good

Keep dissapointing your parents like I did and their expectations will fall lmao

Idk where OP is, but if he's within the statistical majority of people here (in the US), then the typical US grading scale for B is 80.00% – 89.99%.

OP's mom is being ridiculous.  She needs to ask several other parents and get their consensus on what good grades are.  Like I can understand a probation for having all Cs or mostly Cs, but c'mon, Bs are not bad at all.

As long as its <50% every grade is good
more like if it's at least 70% aka a C and below 60% is an F aka a failing grade

more like if it's at least 70% aka a C and below 60% is an F aka a failing grade
I think you missed somma these:  . . .

wtf your grading system sucks
