What do you mean by this? DirectX is not a Linux compatible thing.. you can still use -dxlevel [number], but it only does minor changes. Team Fortress uses OpenGL on Linux.

i just remember a lot of guides about setting dx arguments when setting up something like that for linux. i guess that's what it does on linux?

in the case of TF2, it runs natively on linux. however, i'm unsure if there's any way to use it on dx8/9 or something. unsure what it even uses.

the computer also has like 2GB of ram, so that's something.

You can't use DirectX on Linux but TF2 does have an OpenGL powered Linux port. From what I've heard, though, it runs poorly.

It depends on the distro and what drivers you have, I think. Some distros make it run like crap and some make it run very smooth and fast.

I've never had any issue using any valve's linux game ports. I think the key is making sure you have drivers specific to your hardware rather than the noveao drivers.

If I had to guess, those guides were written before valve made their linux ports (it's only been like four years I think?). The linux versions use opengl so that they run natively on linux without needing wine.

Is anyone not using Zsh? If so, they should start using Zsh.

They seemed to have implemented 18% of DX11 and it works. Lmao. I tried it on my PC (specs are above, GTX 1070) and I got 30-40 FPS and a issue where my mouse would constantly want to go to the top, but overall it's cool
