No. True tech hipsters are too cool for gui or an os. Come back when you're running nothing but a kernel.

ive been using arch only CLI for a while now
i just come back onto my window manager to play games and forum tbh

until linux can actually run more than 15% things outside of an emulator, it's not the best operating system.
sure microsoft does some weird stuff, but it's stuff that you wouldn't notice having an impact on your research hardcore gaming experience.
your data that windows may or may not collect is with loving millions of other pieces of data, the chances of them picking your data is like one in a loving million. i should also include that the data they take is completely anonymous and does not reveal personal information about you or what you are looking up online.
if you really don't want your data to be seen, you must be doing some weird stuff online and i don't want any part of that.
mcjob sums up my opinion about this whole "windows is bad because muh data and adwares!!";
Read the articles I sent to McJob. Again: the "if you have nothing to hide, why be worried?" and "it's one in a million you get picked" arguments are awful because it is still spying, no matter if you are the victim of it or not.

i use arch am i cool yet

should i also install gentoo instead
I honestly wonder what you think you're getting out of this. What's so amazing about Arch, anyways?
For Gentoo, you need to remember that you are building the whole operating system and that will take a while. Its package manager isn't as popular, so don't expect most of the packages on Ubuntu to be on Gentoo.

The only thing it's really lacking imo is something like Paint.NET. GIMP is alright for general editing but if you need to actually like, draw a diagram it's really not that great because of its lack of a shape drawing tool. There are solutions but they're not as nice as Paint.NET is.
You can install a program called "Pinta" and that is pretty much Paint.NET.

You do know you can install pretty much every Linux distro without a desktop environment and only a text console?

Quite nice looking actually. It'll take a bit of getting used to though. Might have to make some plugins for this tbh

i know that

Mm. Do I get to show off the size of my e-peen yet? I'm running a Arch install with my main GPU  running in passthrough mode, handling all of the VMs I need GPU acceleration for. I pass it back and forth between Windows and Linux, using my GTX 750 as a boot GPU. It's quite nice, actually. I like using Linux way more due to native integration with Vim (vim is amazing, esp for the entire keyboard shortcuts (dd, yy, p, $, /(txt), u, ctrl+ww, :vsp))
Also,
Wine
