Ted "Put Bernie to bed" Cruz

I hope it doesn't talk one strawpoll to validate your opinion.

that was a joke but uh

*looks at thread poll*

make that two

>Even Mathew is above Sanders

>Even Mathew is above Sanders
Thats because no one believes socialism works, not even bernie.
Speaking of which, hows the beach house hillary bought you? So much for "billionares cant buy bernie."

Taking either seriously is legit dumb. You can easily vote as many times as you want on both blf polls and strawpolls, the latter of which is even easier than multiple votes on blf.

disregarding the polls, I still think Cruz won easily against Bernie
he had more facts and statistics prepared, and would constantly go back to them to just state them out loud

meanwhile Bernie went for the emotion grab for most of the debate and he even vilified the woman who owned the small business asking him a question
Cruz didn't turn it back onto the people asking the questions, he gave ideas as to how the problem would be fixed

Bernie has a massive hard on for wallstreet and "teh juan percnt"

The difference is that Bernie's arguments could actually convince someone undecided on this issue, versus Ted Cruz who did nothing to ease the tension of those who'd be the first to lose health insurance if Obamacare is repealed. I didn't hear ONCE a plan to replace Obamacare after repeal from Cruz, instead doing the same thing he's done since the 2013 government shutdown that he used to fuel his presidential campaign, which is bash Obamacare.

That's the fundamental difference between Sanders and Cruz. Sanders has been able to convince a large swath of people to take on even the mildest of social democratic reformism, whereas Cruz remains universally disliked because of his inability to talk to people like normal people. He's fooled some people like you with good manners and clean dialogue to appear "intelligent", but he's nothing more than a political opportunist.

He sure didn't convince the people who watched the debate if we look at the poll. He's nearly 1,000 votes behind

It's the largest poll about the debate. If you want to go find another one then go right ahead. I'm not saying Bernie is wrong, I'm saying he didn't do a good job at convincing.

Sample size =/= accuracy. It's a single poll from a single youtube channel that has its own potential political bias, viewership on the youtube site itself that has its own potential bias, then you have the inherit bias that comes with voluntary response surveys all compounded together with the fact that it's extremely easy to vote tens or hundreds of times as an individual, skewing the results even further. Polling is not a simple issue. If it's your opinion that he wasn't convincing enough, that's fair, I'm not really in the mood to debate that. I'm just saying you can't say that strawpoll is representative of the general populus' opinion.

You clearly went into this thinking Ted Cruz was a scumbag and a lying goblin and Bernie Sanders was a saint. There's no other reasoning behind this blatant disregard for what was said.

Cruz outlined about three or four times his plan from replacement; eliminating restrictions across state lines and removing extreme limiting factors the FDA uses on drugs to drive down both their costs, making them easily affordable. His attack on the audience ("congratulations on your struggle with ...") was a slip-up, and he at least tried to be relatable.

Meanwhile, Sanders said absolutely nothing new that anyone who knew him well enough could tell, highlighted NO plan for replacement, made several emotional pleas and went off several emotional tangents about the top 1% and healthcare being a right (it isn't), and he vilified those who directly asked him questions; he grilled the lady who was a small time business owner over her inability to expand because of Obamacare, repeatedly asking her, "what happens if your workers get sick?" How the forget do you answer that without making you look like a richard? He set her up for failure just because she couldn't financially handle both her workers and their healthcare (she, in fact, couldn't afford healthcare herself) and because she also wanted to expand her SMALL BUSINESS (NOT A TOP 1% COMPANY LIKE BERNIE LIKES TO JACK OFF ABOUT), which is a natural thing you'd want to do.

Cruz won, by every standard, and I'm confident that you'll see the other polls signify that.

Well theres this poll as well http://heavy.com/news/2017/02/bernie-sanders-vs-ted-cruz-who-won-the-debate-poll-obamacare-cnn/

You can cry about bias as much as you want, but the polls are the best way of generally seeing who people thought won the debate.

And I'm sure theres some sort of bias with people seeing it on TV as well, in which the debate was hosted by CNN, who also have a bias.

then you have the inherit bias that comes with voluntary response surveys all compounded together with the fact that it's extremely easy to vote tens or hundreds of times as an individual, skewing the results even further.

There would be a higher chance of people skewing it by voting for Sanders over Cruz. This wasn't a loving Donald vs Sanders debate, no one likes cCruz.

I'm just saying you can't say that strawpoll is representative of the general populus' opinion.

This sounds like damage control over the fact that Sanders wasn't very convincing to people. He should be winning these polls by a landslide.

Which is tied as of this post, as opposed to having one side winning. Now you run into the same potential biases, albeit potentially less so.

You can cry about bias as much as you want, but the polls are the best way of generally seeing who people thought won the debate.
Only if they're accurate. Don't shoot the messenger here; I'm just stating the facts. Polling is not an easy thing to do right. These kind of polls can help you get a general idea of things here, like that at the very least they're probably not far apart (Likely within 5-10%), but with them being so close in both polls it's very difficult to peel back the biases to tell which really won. If it was a landslide victory (by 20% or more) in both 10,000+ vote polls, then you could confidently say that one side is winning over the other but that's not the case.

There would be a higher chance of people skewing it by voting for Sanders over Cruz. This wasn't a loving Donald vs Sanders debate, no one likes cCruz.
Or there are a lot of people who just don't like bernie and vote Cruz because he fits their ideology better, not because of any convincing factor. For every potential bias you can think of on one side, there's another potential bias on the other. This is exactly why polling is so hard.
