the message that black lives matter (not that they matter more than other lives, just that they matter) is a good one, but people in the movement (or at least those with radical views, who are at the forefront) seem to misrepresent that movement with an attitude of division rather than unity of those involved in the fight for civil equality.
there are so many factors that make it all complicated, and people who give the movement a bad name completely undermine its purpose.
i understand those who say "all lives matter" in opposition because they're exposed to these people in the front rather than the quieter, more reasonable majority behind them. the problem is that information in today's society flows so fast that no one is allowed the liberty to think about anything deeply anymore, and you must make quick assumptions, and the assumption about BLM is being made that it is a hateful organization. I don't associate myself with it for that reason alone
