no one from any of the banned countries has carried out a jihadist attack in the US. there's no basis for the claim that those countries are a threat.

'threat' is a really subjective word
Threat as in.... Threat.

Threat as in countries filled with the influence of CIA terrorists.

Yeah but how are you gonna manage to get past security with a bomb? You're not, and don't bring up that you can make one in America because anyone could

CIA is only dominant in Syria and Iraq, and even then that doesn't mean that the country is a threat, it means that the 100 thousand member strong terror group exists and is an ideological threat. You can't stop an ideology from traveling across borders.

average students from the us traveling between the countries with valid papers and such are not threats.

Says you.

Any student could be a potential bomber.

Yeah but how are you gonna manage to get past security with a bomb?
You don't, and that isn't their tactic either. Idk where you got that from.

You're not, and don't bring up that you can make one in America because anyone could
Just because "anyone could" does not completely invalidate and dismiss the entire point. Yes anyone could, anyone can commit murder, anyone can shoplift, anyone can rob a bank. Because it's so easy and "anyone could" makes it more of a reason to bar travel for 3 months

Any student could be a potential bomber.
You could be a potential serial killer, but the chances of that are so loving stupidly small that it's not worth considering.
if we go by the idea that 'everyone is a potential everything' then why don't we just arrest everyone in this entire country?

Because it's so easy and "anyone could" makes it more of a reason to bar travel for 3 months
Your hypothetical outcomes aren't a valid reason to ruin the lives of hundreds of people.

What

What
"anyone could do this!" is a horrible reason for anything.

as i said, anyone can literally do anything from a bombing attack to a shooting spree. the worst possible solution to this issue is to limit the freedom of everyone.

anyone can shoot someone else with a gun, but that doesn't mean we should ban everyone on this continent from using guns. so why is "they can be bombers!" a valid reason for banning regular-ass visa holding citizens from traveling to and from the united states?

Because every legal citizen in this country has documents and are able to be tracked.

You can't loving track an illegal. This is what makes them dangerous.

Nobody mentioned illegals. Go back to your badly painted cave

I don't see how you think someone who holds a visa and is currently a student in the united states is now automatically an illegal immigrant. i guess anything goes in Tony Land

we're not even talking about illegal immigrants, this is about legal refugees

so then like...they just have to wait three months

the ban would be more believable if it was actually preventing attacks

unfortunately, the ban doesnt stop US born terrorists which is prob our biggest threat right now
