Author Topic: i bought a unicomp [haha keyboard thread]  (Read 747 times)

i heard that unicomps are pretty good since they pretty much built the rights to the model m and are manufacturing their own version of it

i also want buckling spring

that's pretty cool
so they're reviving the model m, but with a modern usb connector?
or is it still the old one lol

they're basically remaking them i guess from what i know

Enjoy that 'board, the Unicomp remakes are pretty solid. Buckling springs are without a doubt my favorite switch. The loud and tactile feedback they offer has improved my typing speed and accuracy ten-fold. My daily driver is an IBM 5576 A01 and I own an IBM Model M (built circa 1987).

They are remakes; similar in design and typing feel. In addition to a USB connector, they have an optional windows key. In my experience, the build quality of the chassis is slightly inferior in contrast to an original. They are using a less rigid plastic and the metal back plate has been thinned, as a side effect they are much lighter in weight, which depending on your perspective is either a pro or con.

it has ARRIVED my dude
