I have a feeling auditors give billionaire's taxes (and the president's taxes at that) more attention than just a quick glance over. Releasing his taxes isn't going to reveal anything shocking.
After all these are confidential documents and should be treated as such. I wouldn't want millions of strangers skimming through my taxes looking for the tiniest thing to criticize me on.
90% of this thread has probably never paid taxes. If you did pay taxes I bet you wouldn't be releasing your forms to the public. If you see no problems with sharing your tax documents with the public, go ahead and post them right here in this thread.
When you're the president, you
need to not have any conflicts of interest. It is of paramount importance to the American people that you don't have any business interests that create a conflict of interest. That is the main reason that people want his tax returns. There are already a lot of rightful concerns going around about conflicts of interests, him not fully divesting his business, etc etc, and these issues need to be cleared up so we can know he doesn't pose a threat to the US. This isn't even remotely the same as going up to some random nobody on the street and demanding their tax returns. This is the damn president.
If we don't find anything? Good! That means concerns can be put to rest. But he refuses to and repeatedly lies to try to get out of releasing them. That's unacceptable.
