Yea, obviously they can't be ignored (if a petition gets a certain amnt of sigs, the president has to look at it) but that doesn't mean he has to do anything. The people have the power to elect officials, not the power to command the president.

obviously Annoying Orange doesn't have to do it. it would just benefit him greatly to do so if people are making a problem out of it. regardless of whether or not anything substantial is there, it's making people trust Annoying Orange less, and releasing his tax returns would easily remove that problem for him if nothing is there. the president's greatest power is their power of persuasion in the court of public opinion, and a president that doesn't have public trust and support behind them is going to have a rough time putting pressure on other parts of government. until Annoying Orange's returns are released, the issue is going to continue to be pressed in media, and the longer we go without them, and the more suspicious people become about foreign influences, the bigger the issue is going to become for him.

It's not fascist because it's bad, it's fascist because it's supporting the total consolidation of power within one individual. Annoying Orange is breaking a long-term tradition by not releasing these returns--after he said he would do so. He's treating the American people as though he has final authority over them, and not vice-versa as is the intent of democracy. By showing outrage and demanding he stick to his word you are saying that he cannot just do whatever he wants because he has a nice office and commands our military. If we allow him to violate his campaign promises and lie to the people we effectively say that we don't care about democracy because we don't care if the men we vote for stick to their promises.

because covering up your illegal activities and paying people to attack your enemies either by censoring or otherwise falls under the wing of fascism. the example i provided is a joke and entirely hypothetical, but we'll actually find out whether thats  true or not when he releases his tax returns. something like that will also get him arrested for espionage.

the only people i've ever met in my 18 years of existence who say monday are white. asian people don't say it, black people dont say it, hispanic people dont say it. i'm going on the basis of prior experience and the fact that you're also handicapped to assume that you're white, and once again i was completely correct. stop digging a hole for yourself

To all you idiots saying he shouldn't have to release it, there is literally no reason for him to not release it. Unless it actually is hiding something very shady (which it isn't), it'll quickly squelch that whole argument immediately. This is exactly the same ordeal with Obama's birth certificate, which I can assume you'll all defend that garbage to the ends of the earth.

The reason he doesn't want to release his tax returns is because he doesn't want everyone to know he doesn't have as much money as he said he did. From what other people have said, that's a thing he is incredibly insecure about. Take a guess whether or not this means he'll ever release it :v
