Author Topic: The origin of gglogo150.png?  (Read 3260 times)

I was messing with bitmaps earlier today and i came across it.  I was just wondering what the backstory/origin of it is.

Garage Games' logo, it had some involvement with blockland but i can't remember in what way

I thought garagegames owned torque?

Garage Games is owned by torque.
garage games is the company that owns, develops, and distributes the torque engine. the logo was probably in the game from the start just as part of the game's default base assets (it may also be used in the credits/help menu but i don't remember)

I just fixed that as soon as you posted this.  Thanks for clarifying that though.

lol
I was really curious how an engine owned a company

uh i think u mean cokeland!!

there used to be an 'About' button in the bottom right and if you clicked it, it would bring up this

but since then TGE has become freeware and is no longer really supported or cared about by garage games anymore
the date shown is the last time blockland was updated since i just snipped a picture out of the ingame guis

You must be mistaken, I'm pretty sure it was Badland.

Since tge is freeware, could that maybe mean, one day, blockland could have an opensource release. (I know ive been told no due to the fact it would be a security issue, but maybe, please? No? Okay ill hide now)

No
TGE is not freeware, either. GarageGames still retains all rights on it. It is not free. You cannot buy it, but it's not free.

TGE basically became T3D which is freeware labeled under an MIT license

and thus torque doesnt really give a stuff about TGE since its a heavily outdated version of T3D
