too far
It undoubtedly needs reform--namely the concept of 'electors' needs to go and revert to the majority vote of the congressional districts. As it stands now 280 men could single-handedly overthrow democracy and name Jeb Bush president and it would be completely legal. However it exists to give representation to the narrow minority. If the 52% always win over the 48%, then those 48% never have a say in the government. If we give them a light boost via the college, it will essentially dissolve to 50/50 where they win on equal terms. 48% beating out the 52% wouldn't be fair if it only happened once, but since we hold a new election every 4 years, it tends to equal out.
I would prefer ranked voting (so third parties would be viable) far more than an abolition of the college.
