Author Topic: the homebrew thread - jailbreaking your consoles to freedom  (Read 10237 times)

I update my PSvita past 3.60 when I should have disabled it, so I say forget it and installed ARK on it instead.

Now that this thread exists I might as well show the setups I have going:
PS2 wise I just have a basic FreeMCBoot setup that's meant mainly for booting into OPL so I can play my backups.

I couldn't find an OPL theme online that looked good enough for my tastes so I just put together my own (based off of the PS4's UI) made (mostly) from scratch. I also made a batch of cover thumbnails to go along with the theme. All together it came out pretty loving amazing and I'm proud of how well it looked in the end.

For my Wii I have USBLoaderGX set up as the main frontend for it with a portable 1TB HDD housing all of my Wii backups. The theme is just the Wiiverse theme I found online and turned blue.

Nintendont loads off my GameCube backups that are store on my 64GB SD card. I made the theme myself from scratch and just reflects off of the look of the GameCube's Bios.

holy mother of forget that's a badass theme. i don't really have an HDD yet, so i don't use OPL that much unless i back it up to my USB (which isn't that powerful or fast).

(i should focus on my xbox, though...)

do any of you remember what the default key is to open homebrew on boot for 3ds
i wanna change my theme but i forgot

do you mean homemenuhax? i believe it's what you binded it to.
if you can't remember, grab soundhax and boot HBL from there.

although you should check out http://3ds.guide and see how to get arm9loaderhax, which allows you to not only run homebrew always, but also install it to the system menu

wish i didnt have to buy anything for the ps2

There is a reason why sony doesn't like homebrew because it loving leads to piracy.

There is a reason why sony doesn't like homebrew because it loving leads to piracy.

here's the thing, like we said already: not all homebrew is piracy

if you don't believe that, it's cool, but stop loving posting about it in a thread where we don't support piracy and enjoy just regular homebrew

If homebrew opens up piracy then all homebrew is a gateway to piracy.

A gateway where the loving gate doesn't close or lock

Sony has already expressed why it doesn't like homebrew and why piracy is killing their systems.

Your computer is open up to the acts of piracy, perhaps you should just get off of it?

I've tried to homebrew my PS2 before, took me a day to realize my model could only be homebrewed through freemcboot, so I just gave up on that.
I had also homebrewed my wii so I could play MH Tri with that one mod, I can't remember which but it added a lot of extra stuff, along with the ability to fight the online monsters offline. It was fun.

if you don't wanna go through the effort of getting freemcboot on your memory card, i'd recommend buying one with it already on it off ebay

The computer has never loving updated their software stuff. It has been dated since the start.

The difference is you are loving jailbreaking a machine that wasn't meant for homebrew.
