as a police officer with the potential to end a life in an instant, you're not supposed to go into this situation ready to shoot anything that remotely looks suspicious. its obvious that if this kind of stuff can happen that easy, they need to be trained differently, or there needs to be some sort of measure the police take first before immediately shooting.

keep in mind that if a police officer is entitled to kill someone for holding an object in their hands, that means that the police officer is 10x more legally powerful than the average person. think of the exploits that can happen as a result under the pretense of 'it looked like a gun'

This is a definite possibility. Either Self Delete by cop or just dumb.

It's common sense and everybody knows that in dealing with a law enforcement officer, you have to do exactly as they say because there is an established protocol. Go watch some police body cam videos if you don't believe me when I say that these situations can go bad in literally the blink of an eye because that's all it takes for some goon to draw a gun and start spraying.

Huh. Guess they're actually getting smart about it. To be fair though, that stuff is incredibly expensive(looking at the Interceptor, it's rated level 3/4 protection which is fairly impressive), so I wouldn't count on that being standard.
