Author Topic: adding or making annotations on youtube is going byebye may 2nd  (Read 2606 times)

like, loving why? there was absolutely no reason to do this.

youtube wants people to stop using them

that's really stupid, like they're great for making corrections on videos and stuff

what the forget, like nobody loving asked for this stuff. what's even more stupid that existing annotations will remain, but you can't make them anymore. Wait a damn second, this kinda sounds a like roblox recent update they're putting out:

Youtube is Drama Whoring...
They're doing this to try and drum up attention.

One of these days they're gonna go too far, and the community is gonna backlash hard, and it's gonna be over.

i still wish for a youtube replacement every day

welll i guess i can kinda see why they're doing this since you can either have annotations or have those end cards (but i don't get why you can only use one or the other that's pretty silly) and many people are doing the former option now

doesn't mean i agree with this why not keep the option tho

i highly doubt that

Youtube is Drama Whoring...
They're doing this to try and drum up attention.

One of these days they're gonna go too far, and the community is gonna backlash hard, and it's gonna be over.

That makes no sense economically

My guess is they're going to replace it with crowd-sourced annotations via heroes or some similarly flaming-pants-on-head handicapped method to raise ad viewership.

they don't gain anything from doing that.

youtube is pretty much the #1 when it comes to a video sharing service, i dont think they need any more attention?

they don't gain anything from doing that.
That's where you're wrong.

They'll do this, then the internet will move on and forget, in the mean time this will boost publicity.
We saw this with YouTube Heroes, and we've seen this with every YouTube Political Biased event, such as the
featured "Celebrities tell you not to vote for Annoying Orange." situation, and the one where the "I'm Gay" meme spawned from.

They do controversial, and sometimes, downright obviously stupid things because it brings the spotlight on them.
They've clearly adopted the "There is no such thing as bad publicity" mentality.

Well, I think YouTube is preparing to have a Information war with Television.

Just like how TV battled with the Movie Industry
Or how Video Killed the Radio Star

I foresee Youtube taking down the likes of even Comcast and Time Warner Cable, if google play's their card's right.
Many don't know it or realize it, but Google is clearly readying up for a Cable Network Takeover.

Google Fios, the massive spreading of vastly superior Internet Connections.
Google is staying dormant, lying in the grass, and one day, when the time is right, they will strike.

ON THE OTHER HAND.
YouTube is currently trying to bait the younger crowd into taking Interest in YouTube and complaining about errors they've made, and I'm sure youtube will Undo these stupid mistakes if they make it far enough to battle Cable Companies, but they're doing this to create an artificial environment to improve as a means of battling Cable Companies.

Most of the features that Youtube is Removing, are ones that Cable companies don't even provide in the first place.

Cable companies are limited to what content they can show you, Youtube is not.

Unfortunatly this is a bittersweet situation for me.
If YouTube Falls, Comcast wins, and I loving hate Comcast.
If Comcast Falls, and Youtube wins, Youtube will become as scummy as Comcast.

well, there you have it. matthew's post of the day
