School spending does not correlate at all with student achievement.  In fact often it's the opposite, the highest spending schools have the lowest achievement.  This sounds like a good cut of bad spending.

if schools are using their resources improperly then they should get new management. i don't think a proper solution for wasteful spending is just to deprive everyone of funding

...where's the incentive here? its just a straight cut?? are they supposed to expect more funding if they do better with less? even if somehow public schools do better post-cut, any politician with limiting budgets in mind would just think "well they're doing so well now theres no need to give them more funding"
