Author Topic: How Much Are You Willing to Spend on a Game?  (Read 6061 times)

I'd probably cry if I saw my battle.net transaction history for OW or WoW

If i like the game there is no limit

$40 is probably the most i am willing to buy a game for factory packaged

i got starfox assault for £38
mgs twin snakes for £50

higher price if the game is too rare to find easily

I generally buy most of my games used and very rarely will I buy a game at full $60 price tag. When I do buy a game at $60 it's because it's a long enough worthwhile game filled with enough content and quality to justify the price.

Last time I bought a game for over $30 was probably three years ago. I'm too broke for that anymore, and I just don't play games as obsessively as I used to. Kind of miss the days when I could drop $60 on a title without giving a damn then spend 200 hours in a month playing it.

most ive spent on a game was like $75 for mh3 when it came out, came with a controller tho

If I'm looking forward to a game and I have the money, I'll usually pay full price for it, as long as it's not like $90 or something higher than that.

i might pay $90 for a newly released game + DLC season pass but that's as high as i'll ever go

it depends on the game

i've got about 2,000 hours in gmod, 1,000 in ksp, etc. had i known how much i'd get out of them i would easily have paid way more than their listed prices. these aren't MMORPGs where it's a grind 99% of the time, these were hours well-spent imo

I'd be willing to spend on a game where I feel that it will be actually worth it.

$1 needs to provide me with 2 hours of enjoyed play time

i've spent like $100 on bf4 (pre-ordered + season pass on 360, then again on sale for pc) but have gotten over 300 hours out of it, so it was worth the price to me. off the top of my head, the only game that hasn't been "worth it" based on that criteria is garry's mod ($10, less than 4 hours; i just didn't have the time to get into the community and download hundreds of mods to avoid half-hour long load screens and jacked textures/models) and titanfall ($60, 20ish hours; i LOVED it but an update caused the game to be unplayable on pc due to ridiculous framerate drops)

i spend anywhere between 5 and 50 hours per week on gaming but i'm willing to drop $120 across a game, dlc, and microtransactions

If it's a big release, I'm willing to spend $60 if I feel like it's something I need (read: really really want) to play ASAP, but that doesn't happen very often (the last game I did that for was FO4 and we all know how that turned out)

I'd say my average is $15-20, which tends to be the base price for indie titles anyway (I paid full price for games like Undertale, Firewatch, and Night in the Woods and don't regret a single dollar) or the cost of pretty much anything that's been out for at least a year during an event sale

i will never ever spend $60+ on a game i know i will complete over the weekend / 50 hours or so.
forget that noise. forget it hard.

no AAA title, all my friends have it, the world is talking about it game, is good enough for that stuff.
