Did you build your computer?

Just wondering: Who here built it themselves, who has a prebuilt, and who has something else?

I assembled my desktop.  My parts.  I generally run my CPU at around 4GHz overclocked, although I take a risk with keeping the fan off the heatsink since I don't do enough to kill it and I dislike fan noise.  Highest temperatures I've seen with it (so far) were 55-60 degrees Celsius, while the usual is 35.

Why 1866? Does the 4960k not support something higher?

- 12gb DDR3 ram
- NVidia GT 740m
- 1tb HDD

1866 in ddr3 is like 2666 in ddr4

ram speeds pretty much don't matter outside of synthetic benchmarks. average DDR3 speed is 1600.

Why would you have needed 12 GB of RAM? Most people only need 8, tops.
