In NY everyone calls each other brother, even white, black, asian and hispanic people. it's kind of a liberal use that we use as a general 'friend' term. I don't know how it is in more southern states where racism is more historically relevant.

I personally don't like the idea of a curse or bad word. The second you remove the taboo from something it becomes boring and its effects are lessened.

there's no such thing as 'removing the taboo' that requires hundreds of years of social remodeling and stigma changes.

eventually nobody will use monday anymore and it won't even be insulting at that point. eventually it will be forgotten from vocabulary
