oh boy you're actually doing the brace thing on purpose now that i noticed

Quote
When Ziad Ahmed was asked on his Stanford University application “What matters to you, and why?”, his answer was clear.

He wrote: “#BlackLivesMatter”, repeating the hashtag exactly 100 times to highlight the excessive use of police force which disproportionately kills black men and women.

The practising Muslim senior high school student in New Jersey has since been accepted to the prestigious University.

“Everyone who received your application was inspired by your passion, determination, accomplishments, and heart,” the acceptance letter read.

It added: “You are, quite simply, a fantastic match with Stanford. You will bring something original and extraordinary to our campus – a place where you can learn, grow, and thrive.”

Mr Ahmed told MIC that he was “stunned” to be accepted.

“I didn't think I would get admitted to Stanford at all, but it's quite refreshing to see that they view my unapologetic activism as an asset rather than a liability,” he said.

is this an onion article

I think he got accepted on the merit of his activism more than the lame copy + paste job he did on the application. Doesn't excuse the application itself though. This is the guy's website so clearly he's got a lot going for him despite not knowing how to fill out an app properly.

That's clearly not the only reason he was accepted. He's also:
-founded an international organization with hundreds of members
-has received stuffloads of awards for his activism
-founded a youth consulting firm
-worked for the o'malley presidential campaign
-was personally commended by the POTUS for his activism
-worked as an intern at the state department
-completed over 600 hours of community service over his high school career
-probably got a near-perfect or perfect score on his SAT

This guy has accomplished more in high school than lots people who have graduated from Stanford. He would have been accepted, probably on a presidential scholarship, even if he was a white male Christian from a millionaire family. In fact, this is bar-none the most impressive high school resume I have ever seen.

Say it with me now: Tony is fake news

I don't know how you can defend his actions. Why would a college accept that

If I was working on an admissions committee and a similarly-decorated student applied without an essay, I would still accept them.

The whole point of an essay is to give a university's adcom a better picture of a student's character and personality. Ziad's character and personality is evident through his  incredibly extensive role in activism, entrepreneurship, politics, and community service. The essay just reaffirmed his passion for championing social causes, which is really all it needed to do.

Is
Is that even possible?
100% on SATs?
