I think the message is that everyone has learned racism/loveism/whatever and this can help you unlearn that inherent discrimination by identifying it

this is just a social issues class that has a weird ass title, nothing to freak out about. such a counter-intuitive title though, makes me feel like they just called it that to stir up the pot.

I don't think those disciplines are all that stereotypical.  My econ professor last semester was staunchly pro-Keynesian, and there's lots of people in the South who are liberal gun aficionados.
