the flight was overbooked and for some reason he got knocked out for it
not sure if this has more of a backstory to it but time will tell
/discuss

Here's a video from an actual attourney on this exact subject. If you have any major questions regarding the legality of this, I suggest you watch it.

Apparently the flight was not necessarily overbooked, they wanted to get 4 employees on the flight, which is the only real thing to keep in mind here.
