I've been to Targets in Canada and the US... The ones in Canada were absolute stuff compared to the US ones. In every conceivable way. The prices were terrible, the selection was terrible, they were constantly understaffed and poorly managed which made the shops themselves even worse. It's really not hard to see why Canadians collectively stopped shopping there.

When I say "terrible," I mean in comparison both to the ones in the US, and the other shops here in Canada. It was just objectively worse to shop at than basically any other place. If that's not a good reason, well then I don't know what is.
