Author Topic: [NEWS] Confederate monuments are being torn down in the South  (Read 12878 times)

it kind of baffles me that there are people out there who see something pertaining to civil rights or diversity and completely flip out because they feel that it's being too 'liberal' and should be changed. it also baffles me that people would complain about a curriculum because it talks too much about the loving enslavement and denial of human rights of an entire race and too little about a small band of rebels who fought for the continuation of the aforementioned atrocities

that's like if somebody complained about a bullying PSA for stressing the effects on the victims and not glorifying the bullies enough. how would it properly express the magnitude of the victims' plight if they just spent 50% of the PSA explaining how devoted the bullies are towards being douchebags

I mean, I don't really give a stuff because it's a statue. And it isn't being torn town--it's being moved. Do you lack basic reading comprehension?

They moved a statue on their own land. Incredible! Outrageous!

horrible example

bullying is a lot more complicated than person A vs. person B
oftentimes the bully is a victim of abuse themselves and in an attempt to grasp at any power over anything they attack other people

as for your original problem, that can be attributed to the recent radicalization of progressives' goals and the methods they use to achieve them
like it or not, the stupid bullstuff taints the moderate, sensible things

you missed the point of my post, which is that bullying PSAs don't glorify the valiant efforts bullies have put in into making their victims lives miserable. that's what some conservatives want, for the 'heroic generals' who promoted violations of human rights to be glorified as much as the victims, which is absurd

you might as well glorify a serial killer for his heroic efforts at skinning 14 women alive in one month

what? radicalized goals? is expressing the absolute horrible effects of slavery considered another leftist trick? you should also blame the radicalization of the conservatives' goals, as they are also the ones trying to belittle the magnitude of genocide and slavery & are the ones complaining.

everything has its own equal reaction. if some neo-national socialists become vocal in their opinions to revive the confederacy and push their white supremacist agenda into politics, then some liberals are going to become vocal in response. your post makes it seem like the left is entirely at fault for the tribal views that some radical right are expressing
