I don't want to read 5 paragraphs about this. Can someone give me a quick rundown of what happened?
actual tl;dr
fyre festival gets hosted and is advertised as this super cool event with live band performances and gourmet food and other stuff (apparently geared towards rich instagram kids or something???)
poor planning causes everything to fall flat when guests already are there - sheltered in stuffty disaster relief tents with dirt, unsanitary kitchens serving stuffty food (see: cheese sandwiches), mishandling of luggage, reports of crap being stolen, etc etc etc
event managers scramble to get everyone out and cancel the event on it's opening day - chaotic to the point of airports being filled up and people being stranded without food or water
in other words, dashcon all over again
