Yes, race exists. No, there aren't any significant genetic differences between races other than melanin (due to distance from the equator) and small things like sickle cell anemia or lactose intolerance which came about based on environmental factors

look at a latina ass and a british girl ass and tell me that genetic difference aint significant

latina probably stores cocaine in one cheek and weed in the other

yes/no. If you're talking along the lines of visual differences then yes. Physically? Not so much. There aren't different breeds of human like there are animals such as dogs, cats, fish etc.

The only visual differences from human to human are facial structure, pigment, and a small but varied number of genetic illnesses that are all based around where our ancestors lived and the environment they lived in.

Social differences fall under culture shock. We laugh at others because they do things differently but when in reality the same can be said about us, which is why viewing people as people instead of categorizing them and isolating them from you is a no no.

I guess the categories for race are a social construct since they're largely based on regions, which are a human construct. It'd be more like a spectrum between neighboring race regions, since who can say whether some guy in central Russia is more European than Asian than Middle Eastern.

oh stuff. disproven.

Ike do you believe there are differences in different races apart from physical appearance?

I mean it would make sense from an incredibly unqualified and simplistic approach. Different cultures and ethnicities evolved in completely different climates and environments, and due to how evolution is popularly believed to work, it wouldn't be unlikely to assume that people from South America and people from Scandinavia might have physical and mental qualities that differ from each other.

It'd be more like a spectrum between neighboring race regions, since who can say whether some guy in central Russia is more European than Asian than Middle Eastern.

Honest question, do you know anyone else who holds this very belief?

Never bothered to ask. It stands to reason that races don't just happen to be tied to the regions that some European guys defined.

would race not be a spectrum regardless? like, you can be half white and half black. that's a spectrum, is it not?

That's what I was getting at, just tied more to native populations.

the liberals dont see differences in races cause they want the world to become like that one episode in fairly odd parents where everyones a grey blob. they want this because the liberals are already good at being grey, featureless blobs
The truth is finally out

In the era of public transport, maybe it's not as big of a deal, but historically peoples have tended to stay in one place for long periods of time until they were either displaced, they immigrated or they died off. It's not so much as the people being defined by the regions, but rather the regions being defined by the people, which is a pretty important distinction when it comes to racial demographics.

There is generally a gradual change between regions, though, like between the Middle East and Europe you'll find people who look a bit like both, so it wouldn't be fair to just categorize them as one or the other because they're neither. We would just call them white or middle eastern, though, based on which they look more like or which region they came from.

If we were to check the genomes of each little group of people and decide race categories based on that, then we could say our categorization has a base in biology.

Yeah but that's hard and annoying, so I'm never ever going to do it.
