hey im not a big fan of laissez faire capitalism either but i don't think America's mixed economy is gonna wipe out the entire human race
america's economy, as it is now, relies on constant growth with the alternative being economic collapse
america is already pretty unsustainable, eventually there's not gonna be enough resources

not really too hard to grasp, capitalism doesnt 'benefit' anybody except the rich
it sustains a portion of the population, and that's enough to make most people content, but the rich still inherently profit exponentially more than the workers do, even though the value would not exist without the labor of the workers.
keep in mind though that i haven't actually suggested there should be a communist uprising. i think the only sustainable way forward is to give society and the workers access to the wealth they produce, and the workers would strive for more because they would actually benefit from their hard work rather than cope with stagnant wages. im no great economic theorist i suppose, but i feel like that would make more sense than what we have now.
this absolutely doesn't cut democracy from the equation, in fact i think its entirely necessary in the long run. at any rate though, capitalism is historically fated to be superseded by something more egalitarian. (capitalism was a great deal more egalitarian than fuedalism, which is why it was universally replaced)
also marx had a cool beard
