edit: this was a joke post ok mcjob pls, yes ive actually read the forum thread and yes i know that any piece of hardware has vunerabilities

This is the website that actually found the vulnerability: http://semiaccurate.com/2017/05/01/remote-security-exploit-2008-intel-platforms/

"If this isn’t scary enough news, even if your machine doesn’t have SMT, ISM, or SBT provisioned, it is still vulnerable, just not over the network. For the moment. From what SemiAccurate gathers, there is literally no Intel box made in the last 9+ years that isn’t at risk. This is somewhere between nightmarish and apocalyptic."
Quote is correct.

An unprivileged local attacker could provision manageability features, which would allow them to gain unprivileged network or local system privileges on Lenovo systems that support Intel® Active Management Technology (AMT), Intel® Standard Manageability (ISM), and Intel® Small Business Technology (SBT).

So if it doesn't have vpro on the sticker, it should be fine?

and i just now got my computer finally working w/ new internet after a good ol change of operating systems

Yeah, let's just forget that this is in the Management Engine of the CPU, and allows you to own somebodys system, even when it's off (but still plugged in). Let's just forget all of that, and have a nice chuckle about this. https://www.slideshare.net/codeblue_jp/igor-skochinsky-enpub for all of the wonderful features of the ME.
I don't know if you're just naturally thick, or if your paranoia is getting the better of you and is making you incapable of basic comprehension, so let me rewrite what I said again just so you can it into your challenged skull;

All hardware is vulnerable.

Every piece of internal hardware. Every Operating System. Every gaming console. Every phone. Every tablet. All of it.

Vulnerabilities exist. The simple fact of the matter is we do not live in a perfect world where we know all the problems that can exist at any time. Hell, Badspot is still patching Blockland with security fixes, a game that's older than some of the members here (mental age for sure). The fact that you seem too slow to pick up on this is astounding.

Do you expect me to bin my whole computer and switch to an inferior Linux system running some obscure internal hardware? Do you expect me to bow down to you as the king of all computer complaints? I'm not buying it, you twat. Getting all puffy and whingy over this is like spending every day of your life crying about Annoying Orange waking up in the morning. It's an inevitable, and it hasn't affected me yet, and it won't affect me in the future.

Actually, why don't you try and hack me? Let's put your money where you mouth is. Hit me with your best exploit.

Unsurprising that Queeba shows his face around any time somebody complains about a mainstream system.

Do you understand why you're the forum joke, yet? It's because you leap into threads without any basic knowledge of what's going on and prove yourself to be either drunk or mentally deficient.

thank u for your good deeds in calling out paranoia filled bullstuff mcjob

i don't think that post was meant to be interpreted seriously at all, and those are some incredibly harsh words for someone who was just making a joke

I'm sick and tired of it though. He's also as bad as that d guy, except d knows his stuff (even if he's wrong), whereas Queeba just makes an incredibly awkward post on the forum and then rushes to Discord to brag about it.

In recent news: an australian man gets mad at local forumers for pointing out that hardware is never secure.

boy he doin it toNIGHT

I thought it was because he went all anti-abortion just because his gf is.

someone explain to me like I'm a lil boyo what the forget is going on here.

like, what is vulnerable, how is it, why is it, and what does it affect.
