Author Topic: Developing Fatkid as a Gamemode  (Read 2000 times)

For a while now, I've been planning to reboot Fatkid, but I've gotten a new computer and I don't have the Fatkid script to run, and I have the hassle of having to delete my config folder and reinstall it just to get my server back to normal.
I want help remaking it as a gamemode so I have less troubles with it. Also, I'd ask Anthonyrules144 to do it, but he's unfortunately busy with other projects. If you'd like to volunteer to get it up and runnnig again, please PM me. Thanks in advance.

Well, there's one Fatkid and a team of Skinny Kids. The Fatkid needs to get close-ranged to eat the skinny kids, which turns them into skeletons. The skeletons then need to team up with the Fatkid and kill the rest of the skinny kids. Meanwhile, the skinny kids go up a tower and multiple floors with barricades they need to break. The skinny kids need to survive long enough that the timer will run out. If the Fatkid/skeletons kill all of the Skinny kids, it's game over.

It should also be noted that the Fatkid is rather slow and has a stun attack to accompany his eat ability, and the skeletons run very fast and can only use melee. There are typically barriers that the Skinny Kids have to break along the way while running from the Fatkid. There also tends to be gun spawns along the way, so that as the Skinny Kids break more barriers and progress through the level, they gain get better and better guns to use against the Fatkid and his skeleton minions.

Yeah, pretty much. It can be a bit boring after a couple of rounds. I still feel like the gamemode has a lot of potential, though (referring to its Gmod implementation).

I'd recommend using Slayer, since it will do most of the legwork for you. Here's a development guide: https://bitbucket.org/Greek2me/slayer/wiki/Modding
