Author Topic: Dedicate Ram  (Read 1304 times)

I want to dedicate ram to a server.
However I cannot do it.
I've looked it up everywhere and nothing helps me.
Help?

What do you mean by this? Do you want to host a server with good amount of RAM for blockland?

Yeah, I mean that I want to host server with a good amount of RAM so it is stable and doesn't lag for users.
If it's my internet I may be mistaken

If you're interested with linux you can find cheap hosting with linux. OVH hosting is one of the cheap ones for both windows and linux. Linux VPS are much easier to set up and I am pretty sure they don't cost anything on the linux side to host them.

Getting a windows VPS are usually expensive so don't expect to find a hosting under $7/m that is reliable unless you are in some kind of contract. Windows need license keys for them to work which is why the prices are usually not cheap like linux VPS are.

Searching "windows VPS hosting" or "linux VPS hosting" should help

Things to be aware of:
+ Make sure they are legit by looking up reviews of the hosting service and make sure the prices don't sound weird for what they give you
+ Blockland usually needs at least 1GB of RAM, if you are heavily hosting such as hosting something like a CityRPG or a build that has a lot of bricks (>250000) it is highly recommended to get 2GB of RAM to be safe
+ VPS are never free, there's always a catch to them

You can also try amazon aws EC2 servers as they do give a 1 year free VPS (I know what I said above but I've done the 1 year trial and it was really good for windows hosting)

Blockland will allocate RAM as it needs it.
It's likely your internet, or maybe some add-ons you're running.

Blockland will allocate RAM as it needs it.
If you are doing certain tasks it will be very slow
