thing is, isnt amd still a better value
the 6 core 12 thread offering is literally almost 200 dollars more than an r5 1600, and the 8 core 16 thread offering is almost 300 dollars more expensive than an r7 1700
high end enthusiasts will still use intel obviously, but for people that dont have a metric crapton of disposable income to blow on super high end computers, amd is still the better choice
and also we're still waiting for threadripper

iirc intel almost always outperforms amd in single-threaded performance. sure amd may offer you more/the same amount of cores for less, but that doesn't mean it's better than intel's offerings

AMD does win in price to performance. Sure it trails behind Intel, but Intel is double the cost for the same thing, for only a 5 - 10 percent​ performance boost.

No matter what you believe, and is the best when it comes to performance for your money. Intel overcharges everything to hell and back.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but won't an 18-core processor be worse than the best 4-cores for gaming, at least until game engines optimize? I remember that a lot of the octo-core processors out there are easily beaten by the i7 line because of optimization.

iirc the i9 and ryzen 7 and and Threadripper is made for workstations and streaming and other stuff, not gaming
