So apparently Comcast started blocking their users from accessing Internet Archive just a few days after the anti-Net Neutrality bill was passed. Any requests for archive.org are blocked by Comcasts routers, their blog at blog.archive.org still works fine IP so it's likely not a DNS issue.

Discuss, I guess.

why tf would you link a 4chan thread as a source
ugh though, ive got comcast and this is pretty stupid

Because 4chan's the only place that's talking about it right now, except for Internet Archive's twitter.
EDIT: Nvm I'm dumb, I googled for archive.org instead of Internet Archive, seems like Reddit's talking about it too.

I feel bad for anyone who lives in a place where they can only get comcast

as always, comcast is being garbage

How do we know they're deliberately blocking it, and that's it's not just like...a bad route or something?

I'm not sure how that would even work, when it's affecting all/only Comcast users, and knowing Comcast, I don't doubt that they would immediately start taking advantage of things.
But I don't see what business case there would be to block Internet Archive?

im on xfinity and can access it fine. if you read through those threads other people not using comcast are having issues connecting too, one dude from Brazil said he couldn't access the page. i wouldnt jump the gun assuming comcast is blocking it, could just be a bad route or something. what would even be the point?

because apparently the way back blog is hosted along side the regular site. Comcast users can't access the main site, but can access the blog. meaning they are specifically filtering the way back machine site (according to the masses)
what would even be the point?
it's a way back machine that archives old information

old information people probably dont want other people to have anymore

i thought i was going to be salty

but in reality cuntcast just forgeted up their stuffty internet again and wasn't actually malicious.

comcast isnt handicapped, there's no way they would really think blocking an archive site would somehow protect sensitive info they don't want to get out. they know people have vpn's and not to mention different service providers. if they are actually blocking the site, probably have some beef with the owners or something

Xfinity suffering user here, can connect fine. I don't see any reason in why they would block it anyway.

Told you guys killing net neutrality would write Comcast a blank check to be even more evil. You don't even have any right to blame Comcast for this since we've consented to let them do this.

"B-b-but muh free market"
