Author Topic: DTS Brick Collision  (Read 1173 times)

I am attempting to do an import of some Vanilla World of Warcraft models into BL. Before I worry about texturing and what not, I wish to get collision sorted out. I am starting out with one of the simpler models to get the right idea of how everything should be working before I continue with the rest. I have attached here all of the files associated with this brick as well as the settings I used while exporting the BLB. I am using Demian's Blender BLB Exporer and Port's DTS Exporter. For the WMO files (what WoW uses) I am using Skarn's Blender Import/Exporter

Export Settings:

Associated Files

interesting.
but what is the purpose of this topic.  to keep track of progress?

i think bricks can have only a certain number of collision boxes attached

the collision doesn't work. I was hoping someone here would point me in the right direction for fixing it.

the 10 box limit shouldn't apply to dts collision

Did it.  Recorded a video of the process(22:23).  Uploading the video to youtube. (link)

When I got to it, it was just the shapes named col-101, col-102, etc...  and they were in the "detail32" group.

List of problems:
Some normals were backwards
scale was not applied which screws up the exporter
object origin was low, which puts the collision shape up high when used w/a brick
I screwed up when fixing this, as I forgot to apply the new location when exporting :P

But it works now.  Good luck on the other bricks.

Oh and good job getting the scaling and naming right.  It looked like you were headed in the right direction.

I wasn't expecting such a detailed response, wow! Thank you so much man this is very encouraging to continue learning.

can confirm this. 10 box is the blb limit, and it doesnt allow angled faces.
