Surprised there isn't just a politics general thread. I mean, This is off topic after all, not politics.

The proportion of threads reflects what people are interested in. There are plenty of more casual threads where people aren't bickering over politics, but the average age of this board is a lot older and the stuff we talk about reflects that.

If you filter out the stuff that is gleaned from cnn by Lord Tony, then the news threads only pop up maybe once a week to reflect actual news. Usually a celebrity death or some terrorist attack.
