Don’t like the show— it feels like a Steven Universe ripoff except no real plot.

steven universe didn't really have a plot either until ocean gem, which was supposed to be the last episode apparently. after the latest episode it seems like a plotline is beginning to develop, and there's a fair amount of world building that's been going on in the background already

Speaking of Lord Boxman, fun fact; He's voiced by Jim Cummings, who also did the voices for Disney's Pete, Dr. Robotnik from the 1990s Sonic TV series, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, and Taz the Tasmanian devil

ye i recognized it because it reminded me of tigger, good stuff. jim cummings does cool voices

what I like about the show is that  makes very clear just how powerful each of its characters is with the card mechanic

I'm kinda disappointed that there isn't a lot of in-depth fighting, though, like hill said this seems to take a little from Steven Universe in the "let's talk it out" aspect which really doesn't fit a show starring solely trained superheroes

if this follows the same pattern of SU, then rn we're in a training+character development phase that builds up the central pieces to handle a conflict down the line that kicks the show into gear. i'd say TKO was meant to be the beginning of that shift

while it's relevant i do kinda want to complain that some of the battle animation has been a bit weird-lookin, but that's just my personal gripes and it seems like they're getting better as the show goes on

so what is special about this show exactly

it's like the only good show on CN right now

that's what's special

oh word? not only are the episodes regionlocked, but the entire website is regionlocked?

But the voice Jim does for Lord Boxman is more akin to that of Pete
He also voices the mask from Splatterhouse.

that's just how cartoon network be

this show doesnt seem that good really i mean none of you exactly answered my question of what makes this special

it's just fun to watch, idk. the comedy is pretty good to me, it doesn't take itself too seriously, and i like the characters. there's no complex reason for why i like it, i just enjoy it

it sort of reminds me of adventure time as in how it was so loose cannon when it first came out.

Why does it have to be special? As Otto said, it's just kinda fun to watch, it's silly, it's something new and different compared to other shows on CN right now, it has some alright characters, it has Jim Cummings, it's a cartoon

It's fine that you don't like it, but it's not revolutionary or anything, so you're not gonna find much in that regards

nobody said it was special
