I skimmed the thread a bit, so if that's not what you're saying, that's my bad. A bit hard to read the signal from the noise when so many other people are saying the same thing.
Well I will clarify now: I don't think him being a member of the liberal left is the sole reason for this shooting. I just think the current political climate means if prominent figureheads of an ideology are calling for
blood on the streets and other crazy stuff, calling Annoying Orange illegitimate, a traitor, a threat to the country, you're gonna get people like this guy who are going to go for the throat. It's just like how that one guy shot those police officers in Dallas in the name of BLM. If your rhetoric is vitriolic enough, people will do things like this because they believe in it. It's why that guy shot up that Planned Parenthood, and it's why this happened. I do not think it is only applicable to the left. I think in this situation, it is. If he had a criminal record before this, especially for violent behavior, I feel like that doesn't really retract from my point. Sure, he can be mentally ill and a violent person on his own, but he's still a human being capable of making decisions based on whatever forgeted up ideology he subscribes to, right? If he believed in white nationalism and went on a Dylan Roof style rampage, then I'd say we have to evaluate the current rhetoric of white nationalists.
