they're kinda cute I guess

why not, people have bugs and reptiles as pets so why not have something that can easily show affection as a pet

pigs are super cute and playful. tbh, it should be illegal to slaughter any animal above a certain level of intelligence. like octopi and pigs, which are both extremely smart animals. anyone who doubts this should go watch the movie 'okja' on netflix.

chickens also stink.. alot.
they don't clean themselves like other birds and are really agressive to humans who go near their coop if they have not seen them before/in a long time

There's soy-bacon for sale that's genuinely indistinguishable to real bacon. We did a test at a party one time because we were really impressed with it where blindfolded people tried to guess which was real and which was soy, but it was about 50/50. Interestingly, beef (the most environmentally destructive meat on the planet responsible for 75% of rainforest deforestation) was mimicked flawlessly by a completely vegan seaweed burger--indistinguishable from true beef in side-by-side studies. It never caught on because people subconsciously thought it tasted worse than genuine meat once they were told it was made from seaweed. There's good evidence to suggest perfect vegetarian chicken will be available soon. Unfortunately Octo-tofu hasn't really caught on, nor has fish-tofu, and whether fishing is particularly inhumane or not is really still up for debate.

They're probably mean because most of them are like miniature pearoosters subject to frequent abuse and concentration camp-esque conditions. I've met domesticated chickens at friend's houses who were extremely playful and sweet, though they were raised with people from the time they were chicks.

well i mean so do cattle and pigs but they're just naturally docile and cute and i actually feel bad when eating steak or pork which is getting rarer and rarer

im a firm believer in hunting for food as that's a more natural way of doing things but unfortunately I live in vegas so doing that isn't much of a possibility. i imagine coyotes aren't very tasty. never had quail though, but quails are cute i'd feel bad

i've had veggy patties before and the ones we have here stink... not even like beef.
they don't have the texture or moistness of beef and taste really off, like it's not hamburger meat or it's mixed with something so i can't really get into it

chickens are very cute. I like to pick them up. They are soft.

Well, a 'veggie pattie' is different than soy. It's not usually trying to mimic a particular meat. However, you're absolutely right that there is terrible tofu out there in the world, especially at Asian restaurants. Soft spongy tofu makes me want to . It tastes like mold. This is very common because its cheap and low-effort to produce (and low-demand as well) but certain cities and resteraunts will have better tofu than others. The McDonalds McLean burger was scientifically proven to be indistinguishable from a standard (higher calorie) burger, and Pei Wei has hard sauteed chicken-soy that genuinely tastes better than the real chicken (from people who I've sampled it with). I'm not saying it's practical to completely replace your meat consumption with soy (especially not in rural areas), but it should be possible to mimic the meats of certain animals flawlessly in the near future.

Especially the little ones. My neighborhood is covered with ducks (who are mean and stuff everywhere) but the little ones are extremely fluffy and adorable. Sometimes they get stuck because they aren't big enough to climb up the curb, and you have to lean down and held them up. They're not all that different from baby chicks.
