Well they didnt remove them, they just disabled users from adding them anymore, they still exist you just cant edit, remove, or add them to videos anymore.

this is gonna break my super fancy theater mode thing with magic actions or whatever that lets me put this neat border around stuff that glows the color of the video and is just generally nicer than true fullscreen

I wouldn't be surprised if annotations were added back as a feature only available on "premium" user's videos.

i don't like it because the interface takes up the entire width of the screen instead of like 65% or whatever like all websites ever made do it
