Author Topic: mediafire now blocks you out when using an adblocker  (Read 13744 times)

if i ignore what you say its probably because i'm still editing my response. go back and reread

What the heck is an ad that isn't a monopoly? The onlg malicious ads shown are done on purpose.

this statement is very false because there are several ad partners, and sites like the cutting room floor rent out friendly non intrusive ads to regularass people
non intrusive ads? what fine line defines what is 'intrusive' and 'nonintrusive' when they all lead to some bullstuff you don't even want to see in the first place? just don't click the ads, and if there's a popup that's probably a hardcoded javascript ad that activates whenever you click on the actual website itself

none of this is mediafire's choice, they don't have a say in what ads loving appear in their spaces. if you don't like it, send an email to the ad agency that is providing them with those ads

ad revenue agencies compile a list of loving ads that companies directly pay for and then they provide those ads to spaces that are set on the website. there's no direct decision that mediafire can make regarding the content of the ads that they receive, and your suggestion to 'just choose google ads' is essentially criticizing a private organization's choice on what ad agency they prefer to use

this whole mantra about them choosing the very specific ad agency that fits your preference is autistic.

imagine if you went to a ball game and they offered you complementary gatorade, and you threw a fit suddenly like "how dare you serve gatorade here! it's an unhealthy beverage! the owners of this baseball game should be ashamed of themselves for not providing vitamin water! its clearly 100% their fault"

before you say something like 'at least they dont force you to drink it' its just an brown townogy

intrusive: popups, video ads, popunders (i swear to loving god these are the worst)
nonintrusive: small static image/gif ads, partner links

this is why i always unblock ads on sites like webcomics and such

it's not about loving preference
it's about at least having the basic loving decency to check if your bullstuff ads that you signed off to whatever handicapped 3rd party company don't even attempt to give your customers loving malware
this stuff is inexcusable

ads are loving ads, there's no intrusive/nonintrusive and that's just your own personal description of them. in reality, they are all ads that are only bothering you because you click on them. it doesn't matter if its a progressive ad or a 'click thsi button to download speedincreaser' ad, they're all the same

if you don't want malware then don't click on it. as for the popup that happens when you click on the screen, that's a legitimate issue and i would raise that issue to mediafire as well

drive-by malware exists where something as simple as visiting the website or loading it can download malware to your computer

normally browsers like chrome and firefox already have their own measures that prevent unsecure init downloads from being activated

i hope they do

it is quite straightforward to objectively decide if an advertisement is intrusive or not lmao

what happens after an ad is clicked is no longer the website's business. they don't have the time or resources as a free service to say 'man i want this ad and not this one' and if you expect any business to do this you're expectations are too high.

as for the amount of ad revenue agencies that can be chosen, they probably chose the cheapest one out there, considering they are a free service. something like google ads that filters out bad ads would cost more per views than others

This is so stupidly wrong. Malwarefire has ads that look like they could be the download button which could catch people off guard and they also have a window open every once in a while. Do some loving research before you say handicapped stuff like this.

forget you, i literally checked 10 different mediafire link. once again, the 'download here!!!!' malware button isn't their loving choice, it's the choice of whatever ad revenue agency they have.

you know, you'd think the loving dark gray box that they intentionally put around their real download button is intentional to separate it from the ads. but of course, they are clearly acting out in malice and do everything they can do entrap users in malware. shame on them, as a free non-profit service, for having some way to earn money to keep their site up and running.

maybe you need to do a little research, understand how free websites earn ad revenue in the first place
