Author Topic: Server Problems  (Read 4313 times)

I've followed the guide on the official site http://blockland.us/portforward/, did every step, port
is 28000, and I can't host a correct server!

NOEDIT: It's just that the ping doesn't show up, some people can join, but I never see anyone join. Even the most clickbait-y servers don't get players.

well then it sounds like you need to have better server content and a better server name so that 1) people who do join like your server and will probably come back and 2) will check out your server out of curiosity in the first place

it takes a while to become a popular server host. the key is having a project and persisting at it. a high quality community build may be a good starting point

no, my problem is the ping, it shows as "---"

double check your port forward settings and make sure tcp is open. if you need to specify a port range do 28000 to 28100 as sometimes BL will use one port higher than its current setting if the port it tries to take is taken. post pictures of your router settings if you can

I tried changing the ports as those were wrong and I'm using TCP UDP, the remote host is Any. Nope

Here's my settings.

Here's what shows up in my console.

turn off UPnP on both blockland (options, network) and your router, then try again using port 28000.

How do I specify what port for Blockland to use? I can't find it out.

NOEDIT: Nevermind, it was set as 28100 in preferences. Really needs a option in Networking.

NOEDIT 2:

Doesn't look quite like it's working yet. Can anyone see if they can join?

No it does not. That is not where the port option should go. Can you tell me what this says in console: echo($Server::Port);

28000 after I changed it

By after I changed it, I mean after I changed it in the pref.cs file.
