right now i want to wash my keyboard please answer me

no, that will not clean it.
however, mechanical keyboard manufacturers have a secret cleaning method.
to do this, wrap your keyboard in tin foil and stick in the microwave for 3 minutes; this vaporises all the dust and gunk on the keyboard with microscopic lasers that activate from the frequency which microwaves produce.

First you need to demagnitize the electrolytes so you dont ddos the motherboard by accident.

like to specify could i just run it under the sink without taking all the keycaps off and stuff then just let it dry for a couple hours

Oh stuff you're serious.

Yes, you need to take it all apart before cleaning.

It definitely depends on the type of mechanical keyboard he's using.  The safest way I've found is to use a damp cloth (even disposable baby wipes) and clean it out that way after removing all of the bits and bobs.  It's fiddly, but you just don't know if some of that water will get trapped somewhere in the keyboard.

Unless his keyboard can be unscrewed and have everything removed, that's when you can use the sink.
